MMR and Mink
We hold a state permit that allows us to work with a small number of displaced fur farm mink 🦦
More about out mink program:
• We provide permanent sanctuary to a small number of mink, and currently have three resident mink. You can see more about their stories in the "all about mink" section.
• When possible, some of the mink we intake may be evaluated for permanent placement at other excellent sanctuary facilities.
• We network with other mink/exotic rescues to assist with displaced fur farm mink all across the country. The more we work together, the more good we can all do!
• We provide education about the problematic commercial mink farming trade, and advocate for an end to mink farming. *MMR does not support the extreme action of releasing fur farm mink from mink farms. This action can be extremely cruel to the mink, and may have a devastating impact on the ecosystem. **MMR is not supportive of extreme AR actions such as ending companion animal ownership, or forced dietary changes (especially within marginalized communities that may struggle with food security issues).
We encourage you to check out Rocky Mountain Mink Refuge, a fabulous mink and ferret rescue in Utah! We work closely with this nonprofit, and they do amazing boots-on-the-ground work aiding mink displaced from the Utah fur farming industry.

MMR and Education
MMR also strives to provide free fun educational activity kits to local children, when funding allows. These kits contain mustelid fact sheets, coloring sheets, owl pellet dissection kits, local nature scavenger hunt sheets, DIY bird feeder & terrarium kits, and other small activities. Our mission is to inspire an interest in learning about nature & wildlife.
MMR and Wildlife
We promote coexistence with wildlife and humane solutions to nuisance wildlife issues. We encourage education and understanding of the local ecosystem, and ways in which local wildlife can be beneficial. We help bust harmful wildlife myths & encourage the use of eviction and exclusion.
